I've been tagged by my friend Jennie. She actually tagged me about a week ago, but I've been behind on my blog-reading and didn't realize I'd been tagged until just now! So here it goes:

A - Attached or single: Attached. Logan and I just celebrated our 7-year anniversary.

C - Cake or Pie: Pie FOR SURE -- but it's just about impossible to pick a favorite
D - Day: Ummm...probably Saturday, 'cause Logan's home and we often do things with family
E - Essential Items: My purse -- and all its wondrous contents

G - Gummi Bears of Gummi Worms: Doesn't matter. They taste the same, don't they?

R - Reason to Smile: Sappy, I know -- but Logan always makes me smile

U - Unknown fact about me: I am contemplating -- CONTEMPLATING -- starting a small photography business (I don't know why I even said that, it is so preliminary).
V - Very Favorite Store: D.I. -- but Ross is right up there, too.
W - Worst Habit: I am always running late
X - Rays or Ultrasounds: As in, how many of each, or which to I prefer, or what? I'd rather have neither -- unless I'm pregnant, and then I can't wait for the ultrasounds. I don't think I've ever had an x-ray, except at the dentist.
Y - Your favorite food: Are you kidding? That is impossible. Right now I am really, REALLY loving pretty much anything served at Mazza -- especially the lamb sfiha. Ohhhhh, it is goooooood...
Z - Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

I still want to go to Mazza. Just haven't gotten around to it, but that Middle Eastern adventure is still on my bucket list. You - me - my birthday. It's a plan.

Hey Kara - I found your blog from Jill. And by the way those pics of her family are INCREDIBLE! So when I read you're contemplating starting a business, I just had to put my two cents in. DO IT! You are so talented!

The Longest Update Ever...

It occurs to me that every single one of my blog posts begins with some sort of statement about how long it's been since my last post. Let's all just pretend that it hasn't been nine months since I put anything on here, hmmm? Here's the real deal. For the last six months or so, I've been keeping up a weekly e-mail correspondence with a group of girls I've been friends with forever (the Ward Girls!). In a way, it's sort of taken the place of my blog updates. I save all the e-mails, and it's formed the most consistent journal I've ever kept. Anyway, here's a quick -- make that real quick -- rundown of the last nine months: Amanda's kindergarten graduation. There was a little program before the kids got their "diplomas." It was amusing to watch Amanda during the program; she took it so seriously! I felt like screaming from the audience, "It's okay to smile, sweetie!" Well, she smiled when it was over, anyway......

Summer is here!

Looks like my blogging has dwindled to one post each quarter. But they're marathon posts, right? So when we left off, I was about to go on a FABULOUS sister trip to Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C. I made a photo book documenting the trip; I posted it as a separate entry after this one. Take a look and see what you think! If you can't tell from the photos...it was awesome! My sisters and I have decided that we need to meet up in a major city every few years. Next on the list? New Orleans! So that brings us to Easter! The annual Easter party with Logan's family is a big deal: A pinata for Easter? Why not?! The kids thought it was great! Deviled eggs + bacon + chives = YUM. (Isn't everything better with bacon?) Later, we headed to Grammy and Papa's for the traditional egg coloring. This is serious business... For Max, a pinecone is as good as an egg... How It All Began

Life has been busy around here lately! We've been completely preoccupied with yard projects and the like. I'll post some pictures later (we're not quite done; Logan needs to finish wiring the landscape lights). Anyway, I was talking with some people the other day about courtship stories, etc. I thought I'd share ours for posterity's sake... Logan was born in San Diego but has lived pretty much his whole life in Utah. His very early years were spent in Provo while his dad finished a master's degree at BYU. After that, the family built a house in West Jordan. He enjoyed a pretty typical upbringing (paper routes, bike-riding and scouting -- as you can see). When Logan was 12, his family built a house in Centerville. The stars began to align... Little could Logan have known that only a mile or so away, little Kara Baker was ekeing out her existence.
